Wild About our New Logo

Since the launch of the Wild About Lochaber website, way back in 2012, we have used a wee photo of a devil's-bit scabious flower as our logo, identifier or avatar providing a consistent presence across our publications and social media platforms.  It has served us well, providing a welcome reminder of late summer and the wildernesses across Lochaber in which it blooms so sublimely.

Wild About Lochaber - Website

We have recently been thinking about how to better define what Wild About Lochaber is all about.  With this in mind we thought that now would be an opportune moment to produce a new logo, something Simple, Memorable, Timeless, Versatile and Appropriate. So one rainy day we got out our colouring pens and flip chart and had a brain storming session.

We wanted a logo that reflected the wilderness and wildlife of Lochaber, something readily recognisable and adoptable as a brand for walking, wildlife and slow adventure tourism in The West Highlands.

After some shortbread and much debate we decided to base the design around a red deer stag within a simple, but authoritative, stamp design.

The new icon can be found on our website and across our social media presence. Instantly recognisable as an icon of the Highlands,  the red deer stag roams freely and magnificently across Lochaber.
