Details

Portuairk is the most westerly settlement on the British mainland and boasts a wild rocky shoreline and some amazing white sandy beaches and nooks and crannies to explore.  The white sandy beaches by the wee phone box are a great place for rockpooling, swimming and snorkeling and offer some stunning views of sunsets over The Small Isles.

If you head out on the path northwards towards Sanna Bay you will find another couple of wonderful small sandy bays just over the stream past the last white house, and of course if you follow the path you will eventually reach the glorious beach at Sanna Bay.  But hey, relax and stay a while and enjoy the peace and beauty of Portuairk.

Access

Park in the small visitors car park just before reaching the village and walk down to explore the beaches, or park at the bottom taking care not to block access.
