Where Eagles Dare: The Friday Guided Walk @ Rum
Join The Rum Community Ranger on a 3½-hour walk into Rum’s interior: experience first-hand the eagle environment, and hopefully the birds themselves! (Red deer, hen harrier, wheatear, snipe and cuckoo may also be seen) Three pairs of golden eagles and two pairs of sea eagles nest on Rum.
Learn about the identification, ecology and behaviour of Scotland’s biggest birds of prey in this spectacular setting. A true Highland experience, not to be missed:
this Ranger-guided walk runs every Friday morning (9.30am-1pm) from March to October. Meet outside the Village Hall.
The walk is considered challenging as it covers a distance of approximately 6 miles, on difficult trails with some boggy sections.
«It can be changed to an easier route on request »
Please note: the walk may be cancelled at short notice if the weather is really bad, as eagles don’t like to fly in high winds and rain.
Cost £5 Adults /£2.50 Children.
